There are lots of buttons going around websites at present. Current ones we all know and use are Facebook’s Like Button, Twitter’s Tweet Button, and Google+’s +1 Button. These buttons have different functionalities and they prove really useful in publicizing content around the World Wide Web. But it looks like the big 3 won’t be the only one to have their own personalized buttons as Foursquare developed one of their own that helps connect its users to the real world.
Foursquare has added the “Save to Foursquare” and “Follow Foursquare” Buttons. The former may be found next to local content clicking on it will have that place added to your To-Do-Lists. Some publisher websites have already implemented the new system. Another feature of the new “Save to Foursquare” Button is when used to save a review on a place and sometime later you find yourself close to it you’ll receive a notification that the place is in your To-Do-List. If Radar isn’t enables then you’ll receive the notification after you’ve checked-in to a nearby location.
Similar to Twitter’s Follow Button is the “Follow Foursquare” Button. When a user clicks on a brand’s “Follow Foursquare” Button, the user may view their tips when they check in, where they check-in, and the lists that they create.
The “Save to Foursquare” Button proves to be a powerful tool for marketing opportunities especially for mobile users via push notifications. Mobile sites would want to get their hands on this new feature.
